I really hope this is the date for the upcoming Galaxy Nexus. No matter what the date is, if I get it as a gift or if I’m gifted the money to upgrade to it, I’ll likely film an unboxing of it. If no other dates are posted on here it’s because I’m too busy posting stuff on Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/108350651224552222344/posts
So I’ll just be using my original Droid (feels like it’s on life support with Cyanogenmod and overclocking just to make the cut) until I have hope to obtain a Galaxy Nexus.
My immortal line - “Give a man a mask, and he will speak the truth” People are too afraid nowadays, afraid for thier jobs, thier reputation. Why not just tell the truth? Just tell the truth, how you really feel, and accept the consequences? Too many people place too much emphasis on being politically correct and not telling the truth in order not to harm others’ feelings. While I understand nobody wants to harm another’s feelings, that shouldn’t dictate that we all automatically assume negative connotation applies to everything people say.
The flow of my thoughts, imprinted forever on the slate of the internet:
I’ll start my path at getting a job at a wonderful place full of fellow geeks who are passionate about thier work like Micro Center. From there, I have no clue where I’ll go. I know that expensive piece of paper that you work your ass off to get in college might help me about 5% of the way, but in truth the journey and finding a niche or letting the niche find you is all about connections. Yes, I may be closed off from most of the world because I’m in my little closed community of close friends and my computer, but in reality I’m exposed to much more around the world than when my mother and father were kids. The internet has changed sooo much for us in terms of communication.
I hope that I can get enough connections and renown for my……skills if people think that I have any so that I can make a mark on this world. My family is spread between Ohio, California, Canada, Montana and other states around. I want to be the driving force in the industry that can unite them - and also unite consumers with my passion for devices. Since I grew up with very few friends between entering school and moving from 7th grade onward, I was indulged in technology and video gaming. Those were my friends, I grew close and passionate to computers, PSPs, Nintendos, Xboxes instead of people. Now, while that changed between 8th grade and the beginning/now ending of my highschool career, I still maintain the very close connection I have to my technology. I’m rough on computers just as anyone would be with thier brother and sister if they got mad at them for doing something they shouldn’t of - since I have no siblings whatsoever. I have a love for handheld gadgets that extends to my modifying and upgrading of them, until thier durability reaches it’s limit. The first time I truely begin protecting a computer or gadget will probably be when I buy all of it and cover all associated costs with my own hard earned money, because then it will not only be something that *I* own, but something that I will personally know that I have worked hard for.
I see a future in which the over-patriotism that blinds a great many citizens in the USA is gone, I see a future in which we are working side by side with nature as our Founding Fathers and the ancestors of many countries would like us to, and a future in which we can love eachother as humanity was supposed to since the beginning of time. Why need a military when war is only a foul, overpatriotic, emotionally-inspired angry reaction to another faction’s ideals? Why have a split you’re-with-us-or-not factionalist “democracy” when it doesn’t even serve the goals of it’s citizens, as shown by the #Occupy protests? I want this world to change. It is about time our fucking ignorance is burned off of us so we can see clearly and stop being so judgemental. Before I actually loved people as much as I loved electronics, I had to understand why they hated one another so much….and I still don’t completely understand such powerful hatred in our world, but I hope we can rid ourselves of it’s ignorant fury.
This reminds me how long computers are built to last nowadays- specifically “aged” Windows Vista computers such as the ones we use at school.
This man could’ve changed the world completely. He did in many ways too- such as the Tesla Coil and the Alternating Current electricity associated with it. However, Nikola could’ve done so much more if only he had the monetary backing. Here’s an excerpt from a conversation- partial rant- I had with someone today. I’d like the world to read it:
Nikola Tesla. He envisioned free electricity wirelessly broadcasted to the world – he envisioned a future that we only dream about and see through movies (the aspect of wireless electricity is featured in the movie The Prestige)
I can only imagine how beautiful and truly free our world would be if he succeeded in finishing his Wardenclyffe Tower and also used the earth, water and atmosphere to generate said wireless electricity. We would then be operating with nature as we always should have instead of wasting countless dollars on fossil fuels and many people’s lives trying to defend access to the oil wells abroad!
I will never be a soldier because in the Middle East, we AREN’T defending freedom, we’re defending our <insert passionate curse here> access to oil! If Nikola Tesla succeeded in his endeavors, we would truly be living in a more peaceful world! Nobody could steal electricity or charge us for it, because it would be freely made by nature without destroying nature! Nobody could steal the supply because it would be available through the Earth without wires! Nobody would want for or need a gas car because they would be obsolete! Electric-powered cars that are wirelessly fed their AC fuel through the airwaves have no use for gas nor a built-in battery! God, Nikola Tesla really knew how you wanted us to create a peaceful world for eachother…….but as Jesus was scorned so was he and Tesla died in poverty with most of the credit for his inventions going to Edison or Marconi….
I guess multiple teachers have seen my influence in the use of the internet during school. Last year (junior year) we used Tumblr blogs in English class, due to my reasoning as Tumblr is the easiest service to use. Now, we’re making use of Tumblr in Religion class to blog about a documentary on the sistine chapel we just watched.
Apparently I am making a difference in how the internet can be seen as a tool for technologically aiding education :) Hopefully future generations will further propose ideas for using websites and blogging services in education and change how teachers teach in the class. I applaud my teachers Mr.Eble and Mr.Bohne for looking for new ways to teach and for accepting new ways to further our technological education. Even if I don’t like attention…..I like leading these such projects
Your life was one of incredible adventure Steve. Though I may only be 17, I recently applied to work for Apple but will have to wait two months until I’m 18. You paved the way for kids like me to come through and innovate. Jobs really left a great mark on the world, and the best part about his life? He never did it for the money. The money only got him through life with financial backing- he created Apple to change our perception of technology and make us learn to love it. Computers went from essential tools to gorgeus instruments, mp3 players became all-in-one pocket computers. Steve, you really changed up the technology industry and I thank you for being alive for me to witness your leadership and drive. Thank you for honoring beloved employees and customers alike with a laid-back atmosphere and changing how companies worked. I love the mark you left for us, Steve. Now I understand you’ve handed the baton off to younger generations. With your inspiration in mind, we’ll run with it.
